Kensington Palace have just announced what Prince Harry’s fiance, Meghan Markle, received for her first official royal gift.
Before we share what the magical present is, it should be noted that we are living in a time where women’s voices are finally being heard…
On the forefront of change, if you will.
In fact, Prince Harry’s marriage to a bi-racial, divorced Hollywood actress* is on all accounts bloody groundbreaking.
**(For the record Meghan Markle is a lot more than a bi-racial, divorced Hollywood actress. The 36-year-old is a proud feminist, warrior for human and equal rights, animal advocate, humanitarian and an all round remarkable and inspiring woman.)*
So when the Palace kindly revealed that Meghan Markle was gifted an apron, we were like “Huh?”
Pretty much how we’re feeling right now…
Really need to bring home this feeling!
Full disclosure, Prince William received the item on behalf of the couple while touring Finland in November November – and it’s believed she was given it because she’s an avid cook.
We’re guessing the Finnish public took heed to Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s engagement interview, where they shared how cooking was the vital ingredient to how Harry popped the question.
Meghan explained, “[It was] just a cosy night, it was – what we were doing? Just roasting chicken… trying to roast a chicken and it was just an amazing surprise, it was so sweet and natural and very romantic. He got on one knee.”
While the present is inspired, for the last 14 years Finland has been voted the best country to be a mother (according to Save the Children and it is the home to the world’s best education system…
Meghan undoubtedly would have been very gracious receiving the present.
We’re betting they could have gifted the former actress something that appeals to her humanitarian side.
But that won’t stop Meghan and Prince Harry from still being humble recipients.

Meanwhile thanks to the magic of Instagram, we can see what the couple have used as their official “thank you” card.
Using a candid image from their engagement photo call at the end of November, the message reads, “Prince Harry and Ms. Meghan Markle were incredibly touched that you took the trouble to write as you did in connection to their forthcoming Wedding.”
“It really was most thoughtful of you and greatly appreciated. His Royal Highness and Ms. Markle send you their warmest thanks and very best wishes.”
