Meghan Markle is spending her last night as a single ‘commoner’ with her mum Dorian Ragland at a five star hotel near Windsor Castle.
Meghan and her mum have checked into the Cliveden House Hotel, a 350-year-old stately home which has been turned into a luxury hotel and is about a 30-minute drive away from the castle.
The bride-to-be looked glowing as she smiled and waved to the photographers. Fashion followers noted that she wore Roland Mouret’s Barwick dress and a pair of nude Manolo Blahnik heels.
The mother and daughter pair were greeted by the hotel’s general manager Kevin Brooke and his deputy Andre Bremermann on red carpet at the front of the hotel.
A white tented portico has been erected at the entrance of the wing where they are staying to ensure complete privacy – particularly around the arrival of the dress which is believed to have been delivered earlier in the day.
People reports that Meghan will have a team of around three assistants to help her get ready for the wedding.
Meghan is certainly giving her mum, a 61-year-old yoga instructor, a taste of the regal life ahead. Cliveden House, pictured below, is beyond stately. It was built in 1605 and became the home of the Duke of Buckingham, Duals have been fought there, fire has ravaged it several times, royal people met and fell in love there, even President Roosevelt has stayed there.
Prince Harry is spending his last night as a bachelor with his brother, best man Prince William on the other side of Windsor at Coworth Park, near Ascot Racecourse.
The five-star hotel has romantic significance for the couple as the place where Harry and Meghan shared their first public kiss at a polo match in April last year.
