Meghan Markle is fast proving herself to be a certified professional in surprising people.
This week alone, fans were delighted to hear she had decided last minute to fly all the way from London to New York City to see her close pal Serena Williams compete in the US Open women’s final.
Then, the Duchess surprised a number of people by showing up to a yoga class in the Big Apple upon arrival. Casually.
And just when you thought her whirlwind weekend trip couldn’t get any more jam-packed before she jetted back to London, she managed one last surprise – and it’s her sweetest yet.
In a serendipitous reveal, Meghan’s close friend Daniel Martin, who is a make-up artist based in New York, revealed the royal had sent him a very special delivery for his birthday, which took place over the weekend.
Taking to his Instagram account, Martin shared an adorable post featuring six delicious-looking cupcakes.
He captioned the quirky pic: “I am so overwhelmed by all of your well wishes!”
The talented artist, who was behind Meghan’s simple, yet significant wedding day makeup, then shared a message for his friend: “Meg, love you friend for surprising me on my special day.”
This isn’t the first time Daniel has also shared some insight into his and Meghan’s special friendship.
Back in January, the makeup artist revealed he and Meghan had shared a private lunch together, complete with an Aussie staple – avo toast!
Again taking to his Instagram to share a pic featuring some delicious looking avo toast, Daniel wrote: “Back to our Tig days…❤️ Thank you Meghan for being the consummate hostess this weekend and still being the #avocadotoast whisperer, YUM!”

Flying via a direct commercial flight to New York City, the Duchess didn’t waste any time in embracing her favourite pastimes.
According to a report from PEOPLE, the Duchess attended a class at Modo Yoga, which offers hot yoga classes in an eco-conscious studio.
According to an onlooker who was present at the class, there were “lots of sweet, knowing smiles” as attendees recognised the Duchess.
We’d probably be grinning from ear to ear if we were casually in the same yoga class as Meghan, too!
Meghan managed to fit in a quick yoga class before heading to watch her close pal Serena Williams compete.

Wearing a chic J Crew denim dress (complete with a smart casual cardigan thrown casually over her shoulders), Meghan drew eyes the world over as she took her seat in the stands.
Pictured smiling and chatting animatedly to Serena’s family and coach, the new mum looked happy and at ease in her home country.
It is understood Prince Harry stayed home in the UK to look after baby Archie whilst Meghan was away.
Back in London this week, the Duke and Duchess have a busy time ahead, with Meghan’s clothing collection with Smart Works set to launch on Thursday.
In two weeks, the couple and their newborn will commence their first royal tour as a family of three in Africa.
We can’t wait to see what other surprises Meghan has in store for us then!
