If there’s one thing we’ll always know for sure, it’s that the royal family know how to put on a good wedding.
And while we do love to see our favourite British royals put on a rip roaring spectacle of Harry and Meghan proportions, there are some other international royals in particular that are giving them a good run for their money.
Enter royal team Monaco, and more accurately, the recent nuptials of Louis Ducruet, who is the son of Monaco’s Princess Stéphanie, and grandson of the famed royal Grace Kelly.
Over the weekend, the 26-year-old married his long-time girlfriend Marie Chevallier in a stunning ceremony.
And while the day itself was a private affair, we’ve still been treated to some very special snippets from the day – and what a treat it truly is.
In a series of images posted to Instagram, the world has had a snapshot of no less than three wedding dresses worn by the beautiful bride, who is a project manager at the very glamorous Casino de Monte-Carlo.
Louis Ducruet and his stunning girlfriend Marie Chevallier married in a beautiful ceremony in Monaco over the weekend.
(Getty)In her key look from the celebrations, Marie was pictured in a breathtaking long white bridal gown featuring a lace bodice and capped sleeves.
The billowing skirt looked heavenly, as pictures shared by the dress’ designer, Atelier Boisanger revealed an incredible long train that fell for what seems like metres behind her.
Absolutely divine!
The beautiful dress at hand was designed via a talented collaboration – with none other than Louis’ sister Pauline Ducruet, who attended the famed Parsons School of Design in New York, along with Atelier Boisanger.
Explaining the stunning gown on their Instagram page, the brand stated: “Atelier Boisanger with Pauline Ducruet created a wedding dress made of Silk Zagar and embroidered Chantilly Lace”.
The post continued to explain that the dress required 300 hours of embroideries – and a lot of patience and passion.
The end result is incredible, so we’re applauding the collaborative effort!
Marie later wore two other incredible wedding day looks which were both designed by Rosa Clará.
The brand, which originated in Spain, is known for its incredible bridal designs – and in a slightly unexpected (albeit stunning) moment, they designed a jumpsuit as one of Marie’s wedding day looks – a royal wedding first if we ever saw one!
Featuring a beautiful sleeveless silhouette with a v-neck and wide-legged flared trousers, the design was utter perfection.
“We can’t feel any prouder of taking part in this memorable day, thank you so much for trusting in us and for believing in our values,” the designer penned to the bride on Instagram.
The designer later shared a second photo on Instagram revealing another of Marie’s wedding day dresses, which she wore to the church ceremony.
Again, the style was slightly non-traditional in that it featured a short hemline at the front, with a long flowing tulle train at the back.
“The perfect blend of striking statement, elegance and sophistication! A marvelous wedding full of love, charm and happiness,” the brand’s Instagram caption read.
The stunning nuptials were held in the Prince’s palace on Friday, with a religious ceremony on Saturday, which explains why multiple looks were involved.
Louis has spoken candidly about his connection with Grace Kelly’s former husband Prince Rainier II too, explaining that he played a big part in his and Marie’s choice in venue.
“I wanted him to be here with me. At some point he will be with me during the wedding ceremony at the cathedral. That’s why we chose it, and Marie supported me in this decision”.
He’s not the only family member to pay tribute to his late relatives at a wedding.
Earlier this year, Louis’ cousin Charlotte Casiraghi married her long-time beau Dimitri Rassam. In her evening reception look, images of the stunning royal swept the world when it was revealed she was wearing an incredible three-strand Cartier diamond necklace that once belonged to Grace Kelly herself.
This is one royal family we’ll gladly continue to take style cues from.
