Let the countdown begin! Fans gather outside the Lindo Wing for Kate Middleton

The press pens are up and dedicated fans have begun gathering outside the infamous Lindo Wing at St Mary’s Hospital in Paddington, West London as the Duchess Of Cambridge's due date fast approaches!

It’s just the very beginning of what is to be expected a mass frenzy of well-wishers.

However to prevent the same mayhem as Prince George’s birth in 2013, punters are prohibited to set up camp outside the hospital until the 33-year-old Duchess has been admitted.

But that hasn’t stopped colourful characters from donning their Union Jack garb and moseying on down for a glance.

Royal superfan John Loughrey beamed with pride as he held onto his previous memorabilia from George’s arrival.

The 60-year-old must have the patience of a saint after he camped overnight for the 2011 Royal Wedding.

Meanwhile the authorities have been busy setting up the media barricades which will soon house hundreds of journalists and photographers.

Superfan John Loughrey won’t be missing a minute of the Royal baby action!

A large yellow sign also indicates a “special event” will be occurring between the 15-30th of April.

Prince William and his wife are keen to make the birth of their second child a much more low-key event compared to the intense circus with George.
