Kate chose an old favourite to brighten up the dreary weather, stepping out in a Catherine Walker coat she last wore in 2011.

The Duchess left George and Charlotte at home to watch her husband Prince William, a Knight of the Order of the Garter, participate in the annual service alongside his grandmother the Queen and father Prince Charles.

Fans who assembled to watch the annual parade through the streets were left disappointed however, with the wet weather forcing the royals to travel in cars instead of on foot.

Kate looked stunning in red.

William also looked rather fetching in his robe and feathered hat.

Camilla chose a cream Anna Valentine ensemble.

The Queen donned the traditional costume of Knights of the Order of the Garter.
