The Duchess of Cambridge is set to return to royal duties soon after recovering from acute morning sickness.
Since Prince William and the Duchess announced their second pregnancy on September 8, Kate has been receiving treatment for hyeremesis gravidarum, a severe form of morning sickness.
However, after three weeks of treatment the palace has confirmed that Kate, 32, is ready to return to the spotlight with engagements set for next month.
“There will be engagements in October and November. We just haven’t announced them yet,” a royal spokesperson told the Mail on Sunday.
Hyperemesis gravidarum is a complication of pregnancy that affects about 3.5 per 1000 pregnancies and is characterised by severe nausea, vomiting, dehydration, weight loss and a build-up of toxins in the blood or urine, called ketosis and also hampered Kate’s pregnancy with Prince George.
Unlike her first pregnancy, Kate has been receiving medical care from her residence in Kensington Palace instead of being hospitalised.
The Duchess was expected to make her first official solo engagement to Malta this month, a landmark affair in the career of any British royal, but was too sick to make the trip and Prince William chivalrously went in her place.

After hearing of Kate’s recovery, fans of the monarchy can breathe a collective sigh of relief and go back to savouring every stage of the royal pregnancy, especially Kate’s maternity dress sense.
The impeccably dressed Duchess remained stylish throughout her pregnancy with Prince George and royalists are hotly-anticipating the outfits she will don in the months to come.
