Duchess Catherine knows how to make a statement – so we could hardly be surprised to see her nail the feat once more in a new appearance alongside her husband Prince William this week.
Coinciding with Burns Night on Monday, the Duke and Duchess spoke from their living room in their country residence, Anmer Hall, where they made their own contribution to the traditional Scottish celebration.
The couple collaborated with NHS Charities Together and Tayside Health Fund to create a traditional Scottish lunch for around 200 staff at Ninewells Hospital in Dundee. The lunch consisted of of haggis, neeps and tatties – quintessential Scottish cuisine!
And as though on cue, Kate’s outfit also said a lot about the gesture – wearing a bright red tartan dress with a simple white collar, the Duchess certainly looked the part in celebration of Scottish culture.
Great Scot, indeed!
Sharing the clip to Instagram, Kensington Palace wrote: “This #BurnsNight, we’ve teamed up with @nhscharitiestogether to provide staff at @nhstayside with a Burns celebration lunch of haggis, neeps and tatties.”
The caption concluded with a simple message: “Thank you for all that you do.”
The video once again gave fans another unique insight into the royals’ lives in their country home.
On the mantelpiece behind the Duke and Duchess sat several gorgeous photos sitting pride of place.
In previous clips they’ve filmed in lockdown, we’ve seen a snap of Prince George in celebration of his sixth birthday among them, as well as the beautiful image of Kate and little Prince Louis in her Chelsea Flower Show garden design.
In this clip, it’s possible to make out the picture snapped of Princess Charlotte with big brother George on her first day of school at Thomas’s Battersea in London back in 2019.
Another iconic snap of Prince William sits beside it.
As the UK continues its strict lockdown until February, we’re sure to see more from the Duke and Duchess as they continue their work rain or shine.
In particular, their collaboration and celebration of the NHS’ work is more important than ever at this difficult time – we’re excited to see what comes next. Perhaps a traditional English feast of toad in the hole and mushy peas? The ultimate comfort meal.
