It might have been a dreary old day at Ascot, but Kate Middleton well and truly brightened the atmosphere when she made her grand arrival.
Indeed the stunning Queen Consort-to-be looked heavenly as she joined various family members at the prestigious event – and suffice to say there wasn’t an eye in the house not drawn immediately to her dreamy race day outfit.
Indeed Kate’s powder blue Elie Saab gown was simply divine for the regal event.
Featuring sheer sleeves adorned with light blue polka dots and a bow tied voluminously around her neck, the Duchess of Cambridge was a pure vision for the days festivities.
Entering the event alongside Prince Charles and Duchess Camilla, Kate and husband Wills looked calm and at ease as they greeted their high-brow affiliates and laughed the afternoon away on the green lawn.
This marked only the third time Kate has attended Royal Ascot, and boy did she make it worth the wait between her fleeting appearances.
Along with her Elie Saab dress, the royal wore a Philip Treacy hat and Gianvito Rossi silver heels.
Kate’s stunning blue dress wasn’t the only stand-out on the day – in fact, it seems blue was the colour of choice on the first day of the prestigious racing event.
Royal sisters Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie also wore bright blue ensembles to the event, as well as Queen Elizabeth herself.
We guess they don’t call them blue blooded for nothing!
During the event, Kate took the time to catch up with a number of family members, including Zara Tindall and cousin Eugenie.
The threesome looked to be having a very animated discussion, and we can only imagine the interesting topics they might have to discuss!
And at one point, Kate and William were also spotted sharing a sweet umbrella moment, much like Harry and Meghan’s moment in Dubbo back in October 2018.
We’ll just be over here gazing happily at these pictures!
In 2017, Kate wore a stunning white design by Alexander McQueen to Ascot, again sweeping her hair into a low bun – she really is the master of the humble chignon!
Last year, Kate missed the race day festivities due to being on maternity leave, much like her sister-in-law Duchess Meghan is taking time out from the public eye this year following the birth of baby Archie.
With that being said, if day one of Ascot is anything to go by, we’ve got plenty of frivolous fashions to come – whether our favourite royals are there or not! Stay tuned.
