Duchess Catherine has pulled out of the annual Tusk Awards at the eleventh hour, leaving husband Prince William to fly solo.
The royal mum-of-three was scheduled to make an appearance at the annual glitzy event, however, has had to pull out at the last minute “due to the children”, according to HELLO!.
In a report, the publication confirmed Kate had to pull out of the event last minute, but still planned to meet the finalists at a tea at Kensington Palace that afternoon.
The news has been met with some concern from fans, who are hoping her absence has nothing to do with ill health.
Royal blogger @Teatimewiththecambridges took to Instagram to say: “[Kensington Palace] did not say anything further nor did they confirm or deny it had to do with any illnesses. I hope everything is all right at home with the Mini Cambridges!”
Despite his wife’s absence, the Duke of Cambridge still looked calm and at ease as he entered the event.
It comes after a busy few weeks for both William and Kate, who have attended multiple engagements together looking more in love than ever.
The Tusk Awards have been actively supported by Prince William since he became a royal patron of the Tusk organisation back in 2005.
The organisation works to pioneer successful conservation action in Africa by protecting wildlife, empowering communities and helping to fight against the illegal wildlife trade.
The annual awards are held to celebrate the achievements of those who are actively working to protect Africa’s natural heritage.
William presented three awards during the ceremony, as well as delivering a poignant speech as his wife watched proudly.
Shortly after the ceremony, Wills met some of the nominees for the awards.

This marks yet another stellar year for Wills at the event. He has attended a number of times before, and often with Kate by his side.
In 2018, Kate famously wore a recycled gown that she had previously worn six years before – and she looked just as flawless the second time around.
The heavenly teal Jenny Packham gown, which featured beautiful lace detailing, was nothing short of dreamy on the royal.
If there’s one thing we know for sure here, it’s that Kate knows how to attend these awards (and any awards, at that!) in true style.
