Duchess Catherine and Prince William have made their first joint appearance together after three months of lockdown – and though we wouldn’t have expected anything but, absolutely nothing has changed – blissfully so.

The Duke and Duchess visited employees from Queen Elizabeth Hospital in King’s Lynn on Sunday, July 5 as they sat in the sun and enjoyed a spot of afternoon tea with them.

The visit coincided with the NHS 72nd birthday – an apt occasion given its incredible predominance and work throughout the COVID-19 pandemic.

William and Kate looked calm and completely at ease as they chatted to staff workers on the sunny day – the perfect backdrop to the British summer they’re currently enjoying.

Wearing one of her favourite styles, the Duchess opted for a collared Beaulah London midi dress featuring an elegant blue print with long sleeves.

She accessorised with Patrick Mavros golden drop earrings along with an older pair of Rupert Sanderson blue pumps.

The royal wore her hair in a chic, pulled back pony tail.

There’s no doubt it was rather exciting to see a full look from the Duchess – especially after months of shoulders up appearances on Zoom!

While at the event, the pair heard some of the stories belonging to the workers who had worked hard on the frontline as the pandemic wreaked havoc in hospitals across the country.

One medic, Suzie Vaughan was a rather familiar face – she spent months apart from her daughters and was only recently reunited with them in a video that later went viral.

The hospital itself is set to celebrate its 40th anniversary on the 22nd of July, and includes a list of doctors, nurses, medics and volunteers who have done their bit to help during the pandemic.

William and Kate reflected the sentiment felt by all as they spoke with the workers – they were seen beaming and laughing with them, while also listening to their various experiences.

It’s no doubt been a testing time for all, and the royal pair’s visit certainly shone a light on that.

Throughout lockdown, Duchess Catherine and her husband have continued to work in unprecedented circumstances via video calls.

Indeed while they were unable to meet people in person, we’ve seen the royals connect with their various patronages and charities which have stepped up amidst the health crisis to help those in need.

While the UK still has some restrictions in place, it’s expected we’ll begin to see a bit more of the royals as they begin to get back into the swing of things post lockdown.

Of course, there’s no denying that the world is looking a little different coming out the other side of isolation, but no matter which way you look at it, nothing has changed between the pair – and that’s surely a comforting feat.
