Prince William and Duchess Catherine will one day be the King and Queen Consort of England, but they’re really just like any old married couple – and their latest outing as proved as much.

Visiting the city of Bradford on Wednesday, January 15, the pair were all smiles as they stepped out for their first official joint engagement for 2020.

Stopping first at City Hall in Centenary Square, members of the public lined the streets to catch a glimpse of the royal couple.

They certainly weren’t disappointed.

Wearing a beautiful moss green Alexander McQueen coat, which featured a military style silhouette in midi-length, the Duchess was glowing as she greeted well wishers.

Having recently celebrated her birthday on January 9, the royal was swamped with birthday wishes to boot – with many bringing bunches of flowers for Kate.

Said flowers were specifically Duchess-worthy however, so when William picked up a white rose from a crowd-member, he made sure to deliver it to its rightful recipient.

William was also looking calm and relaxed despite the royal crisis surrounding younger brother Prince Harry and wife Meghan’s decision to “step back” as senior members of the royal family.

On Monday, William was called to a crisis meeting at Sandringham to meet with his brother alongside the Queen and Prince Charles where they discussed the Sussexes future.

While it was later announced the family had given Harry and Meghan their full support, it would no doubt have been an emotional week for the Prince.

So perhaps that’s why he also made a hilarious, yet sweet faux pas when he was shown cupcakes with pictures of his family of five.

William became very confused as he looked at a childhood photo on one of the cupcakes.

According to HELLO!, as he looked at one the cupcakes, William did a double take – asking if one of the images was of himself or Princess Charlotte!

“Is that me? Doesn’t it look like Charlotte?” He asked the woman, pointing to a picture with a young Cambridge.

Kate replied: “It looks so much like Charlotte.”

Upon confirming that the image was indeed of William when he was younger he said: “Oh my goodness that looks just like Charlotte. It’s incredible, I haven’t seen that before.”

He also mentioned family friend and British baking extraordinaire Mary Berry, with whom Kate and Wills filmed a Christmas cooking TV special with late last year: “Well done you that’s a lot of hard work. Mary Berry would be very impressed right now. Incredible,” he told the talented baker.

Later in the day, the Duchess then surprised us all as she peeled off her coat once she was indoors visiting one of Bradford’s Khidmat Centres.

Underneath, she was wearing a High Street Zara dress – and it looked a million dollars.

Kate was all smiles as played with some of the young children at the centre.

She also revealed an adorable anecdote about young Prince Louis – speaking to a woman at the centre, Kate said Louis had started to tell her: “Mummy, I’m balancing”.

The woman continued to explain: “She said it was really nice to see him turning into a little boy from being a baby. She’s obviously very proud of her children.”
