Duchess Catherine has always been down-to-earth when it comes to raising her three children, but her latest outing just raised her realness to a whole new level.
On Monday, the royal was spotted shopping on Kings Road in London with her three young children, Prince George, seven, Princess Charlotte, five, and Prince Louis, two – and the store in question was one many, many other parents can probably relate to.
As many children return to school following the school holidays, quite a few parents in Australia will probably have made a quick stop off at this store at the request of their children for some supplies.
Of course we’re talking about Smiggle.
Indeed, according to several onlookers, Kate’s three young kids were very well behaved as they shopped the stationary store themselves, having been given their own budget.
According to Twitter user @lexif1980, they appeared, “just normal well brought up children and a normal parent trying to do the right thing and that’s just lovely!”

(Getty)Of course, the vibrant stationary store is known to many around the world, one we’ve probably all dipped into once or twice.
It’s a known hit with kids too – seeing Kate with her three youngsters there really does reiterate the jarring fact that royals really are just like us on the surface of it all.

(Getty)The visit was also likely a welcome distraction following a difficult week – the kids’ great-grandfather Prince Philip passed away on April 9, and was farewelled at a funeral on April 17.
While the kids were unable to attend due to COVID-19 restrictions, both Kate and husband Prince William were in attendance.
They were joined by Prince Harry, the first time they’d seen him in over a year. And despite some challenges endured between the two families, they came together beautifully for their grandfather as they celebrated his life.
Kate was reunited with brother-in-law Prince Harry over the weekend as they celebrated Prince Philip’s life.
(ABC)Following the funeral, William and Kate returned to Kensington Palace in London so their children could return to school.
Harry remained at Frogmore cottage a little longer, though it is believed if not already, he will be returning home to the US where his wife Meghan Markle is heavily pregnant with their second child.
Hopefully, when restrictions ease a little more, the two families can come together for a proper reunion – we’re sure the kids will have plenty of fun with Harry and Meghan’s one-year-old son, Archie.
