As reported by The Weekly yesterday, the Duchess of Cambridge left her husband, Prince William, and their two children, Prince George and Princess Charlotte at home for her first solo royal trip, travelling to The Netherlands for a busy day of official engagements.
What we didn’t know was how she got home…
Just when we thought our adoration for the Duchess of Cambridge couldn’t grow any more, the 34-year-old (who was still dressed in her pale blue jacket-and-skirt ensemble) shocked passengers by boarding a commercial British Airways flight from The Netherlands to London.
Aside from being able to leave the plane, which left The Netherlands at 7:15pm local time, a few minutes before the rest of the plane, Yahoo reports that the mum-of-two was treated just like any other passenger.
While we were awestruck at seeing pictures of Kate on this flight, it isn’t unusual for the British monarchy to fly on a commercial airline. In fact, it’s believed that it’s preferred.
Like Kate, Prince William was photographed flying economy on an American Airlines flight from Memphis to Dallas in the US. The only royal who doesn’t fly on commercial airlines is Queen Elizabeth.
