Picture this: You’re sitting on the train, headphones in, pondering what to make for dinner tonight, trying to ignore the person beside you as they chat obnoxiously loudly about their weekend plans… when all of a sudden Kate Middleton hops on board – in Oscar de la Renta, no less.
It sounds ridiculous, impossible even. But funnily enough, that very thing just happened to a bunch of commuters going about their normal days.
Yep, even British royalty understand the woes of having to catch public transport, and Duchess Catherine is leading the pack.
Attending a formal engagement in Norfolk on Friday, November 15, the Duchess, who was clad in a beautiful berry pink jacket and skirt by Oscar de la Renta, hopped aboard a train to reach the event.
Surprising frankly everyone, Kate looked gorgeous as she travelled on the Wherry Lines train, which took her to Norwich train station after a three-hour journey.
Those at the station managed to capture the Duchess of Cambridge as she walked through before being picked up by a car taking her to the event.
The Duchess was travelling to visit The Nook – a hospice which helps severely ill children.
The beautiful event was a special one for Kate, who is connected to the hospice via her patronage with East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices.
Kate even recalled a beautiful personal memory at the event, mentioning her memorable encounter of opening the Treehouse hospice in 2012.
“I referred to your hospices as being homes. This visit today has only reinforced for me just what is at the heart of what you do here, throughout your work, and that is family,” she poignantly explained.

It was a special day for the Duchess, who has been involved with East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices for many years.
(Getty)Kate isn’t the first royal to catch a train to a formal engagement.
Last year, Duchess Meghan and Prince Harry arrived via train to Loughborough University where they were attending a sporting event.
The Duke and Duchess were captured on camera walking hand-in-hand as they casually strolled out of the station.
“Bizarrely sharing my train with Harry & Meghan today,” a Twitter user wrote at the time.
Guess that would be one way to describe the scenario!
Even the Queen catches the train on occasion… with a catch.

Indeed she and Duchess Meghan travelled together in 2018 aboard the Monarch’s very own personal train when they opened the Mersey Gateway Bridge in Cheshire last year.
Looks like the royals really do like to keep things real!
