If there’s one way to prove you’re still fabulous at 79-years-old, this would be it.
In an animated display that sent crowds wild, Queen Margrethe was flanked by her son Crown Prince Frederik, Crown Princess Mary and their four children as they performed a rousing performance together on the steps of the Marselisborg Palace to celebrate the Monarch’s birthday.
During the stirring display, the Queen was seen raising her hand with enthusiasm, which was promptly copied by Mary’s two youngest children, Josephine and Vincent, both aged eight.
The family joined in the Queen’s song as they waved and smiled to onlookers – a unique performance from the royals that we don’t often get to see!
Princess Mary was dressed in a gorgeous emerald wool coat and print dress for the occasion, while her adorable kids were also wrapped up warm in coats and blazers.

Queen Margrethe, who ascended the Danish throne back in 1972, celebrated her second birthday as a widow – but she couldn’t have looked in higher spirits.
Last year, the family gave a similar display, after having lost Prince Henrik just two months prior.
In light of the loss, the entire clan had stepped up for the Queen to be surrounded by love on her big day – and this year proved no different.
While standing together on Tuesday, some sweet moments between the close knit family were seen.
At one point, Mary went up to her two young daughters and held their hair as the wind bore down on them.
Later on, her young children Prince Christian, 13, Isabella, 11, Josephine and Vincent greeted onlookers and accepted a bunch of flowers, which they then delivered to their grandmother – so sweet!

The Danish royals have had a very busy winter, with Princess Mary doing plenty of travel as part of her work as a royal.
In March, the former Tasmanian-turned-Princess visited Texas in a whirlwind three day tour that saw her meet with various dignitaries and deliver animated displays.
In April, Princess Mary also had the honour of opening a brand new fashion exhibition at the Danish Natural History Museum.
Titled Fashioned From Nature, the exhibition focused on using natural materials to create garments and highlighted the effects of the industry’s pollution on the environment.
Ever the style icon, Mary looked stunning in a green paisley skirt, black long-sleeved jumper and a gorgeous pair of burnt orange drop earrings.
With plenty of charisma between them, there’s no denying the Danish royals have plenty to give – long may their dazzling public outings continue!
