There’s nothing like a European summer, and Crown Princess Mary and her family better believe it.
In a rare and candid moment, we’ve been provided glorious insight into the royal’s life like never before after a new (and rather candid!) photo of the family was shared to the Danish household’s official Facebook page.
And while the image of Mary’s beautiful family is ogle-worthy enough on its own, there’s a special addition in the frame that we can’t help but delight in.
The beautiful candid snap was taken at Gråsten Palace, which is located in southern Denmark.
Known to spend many a summers day there, the family look relaxed and happy together as they pose for the family photo.
Mary’s four children, Prince Christian, 13, Princess Isabella, 12, Prince Vincent, 8 and Princess Josephine, 8, are all seen with big grins on their faces while proud parents Mary and Prince Frederik stand on either side of them.
But it’s the individual in the middle who looks the most radiant of all – none other than Queen Margrethe, who is 79 and is quite simply glowing in a beautiful multicoloured summer dress.

On the royal family’s Instagram page another sweet snap of the family was shared, this time featuring Queen Margrethe and her grandchildren.
As we experience the troughs of a chilly winter, we wish we could be experiencing a summer as warm and sunny as they are!
The royal Instagram account shared a second picture with the radiant family.
(Instagram / detdanskekongehus)It’s certainly been a busy few months of engagements for Princess Mary, who has travelled internationally to complete her formal duties as a Danish royal by strengthening ties with various countries.
In May, the Princess travelled to South Korea where she and husband Frederik met with a number of industry leaders to strengthen Denmark and South Korea’s relationship in culture and business.
Among meetings with the Prime Minister, trying her hand at cooking and even playing a game of football, the royal took the entire trip in her stride.
And she looked very fashionable to boot!
Crown Princess Mary proved she’s a jack of all trades by playing ball in a stunning white dress and heels!
In June, the Princess visited Paris on a two-day visit. Again, she absolutely nailed all things relating to the wardrobe department.
On the first day of her visit, Mary wore a beautiful pink floral dress to a Danish church in Paris.
On the second day, she opted for a fresh white ensemble that was belted at the waist and accessorised with chic black heels.
The pictures were enough to give us all the wardrobe inspiration we never knew we needed.
