Hold onto those reins! Princess Mary and her children attend Hubertus hunt

On Sunday, Nocember 5th, the Danish Royals escaped the cosy walls of Hermitage Palace in Klampenborg, Denmark, stepping out onto the balcony to witness a timeless tradition.

Crown Princess Mary was joined by her four children, 12-year-old Prince Christian, 10-year-old Princess Isabella, and six-year-old twins Prince Vincent and Princess Josephine as they all watched the annual Hubertus Hunt.

Mary’s husband Prince Frederik missed out on the day as he’s currently in Switzerland for an International Olympic Committee meeting.

The Hubertus Hunt is a timeless Danish tradition.

Mary, 45, was a rugged-up vision in jeans, knee-high boots and a very glam Prada handbag.

The Hubertus Hunt dates back to the 1900s and takes place on the first Sunday in November.

With over 150 riders, 40,000 spectators, it’s a traditional cross country horse race which marks the end of hunting season.

Princess Mary and her little ones were the picture of joy as they watched the frivolity play out below on the palace grounds…

Until one man fell victim to the race.

One gentlemen fell off his horse and was taken away by paramedics.

The Aussie-born royal and the youngsters were horrified when they saw one man fall off his horse while participating in the high-speed event.

The shocking accident saw the athlete thrown onto the floor, with the Daily Mail reporting he “lay without moving for several moments.”

The man was then taken away by an ambulance.

The hiccup certainly didn’t dampen the royals’ day out.

The Palace captured moments from the autumn day, taking to Facebook to share happy snaps of the kids at the event.

“D.K.H. Crown, Prince Christian, Princess Isabella, Prince Vincent and Princess Josephine witnessed today the annual hubertusjagt in a park north of Copenhagen.,” they shared alongside three pictures.
