The stunning family portrait was snapped in the palace’s Salon des Glace on December 3 by revered photographer Vanessa von Zitzewitz.

According to People, the shoot took over an hour and was “a very joy-filled, fun morning session.”

Within the card the royals send their best wishes: “May the joy and peace of the holiday season be with you in this New Year 2017.”

In the photo, Charlene, 38, oozes elegance in a glittering gold Ralph Lauren dress as she cradles her two children, who recently celebrated their second birthday on December 10.

But it’s the painting on the wall that really adds a sentimental touch.

Overlooking the family-of-four is a painting of Albert’s late mother, Princess Grace. Indeed, Albert admits he’s keen to keep his mother’s legacy alive and teach his children about her.

The royal confirmed the news to People explaining, “It feels good. I’m very happy to have saved this old family home from a near certain death or development.”

“I’m looking forward to showing the house to the kids, sharing it with them, having them see the garden,” he mused of introducing his twins to his mother’s memory.

Meanwhile, 2016 has seen the twins participate in several events with their parents. Earlier in the month, the duo helped distribute Christmas cheer around the halls and grounds of the Monaco royal palace by handing our presents to locals.

In November, the pair appeared on the palace balcony for their country’s annual National Day.
