The Duchess of York, who has just celebrated her 55th birthday, was clearly feeling wistful when she took to Twitter to post a series of cryptic messages about her “Gratitude for the change of seasons” and how it “shows consistency as life goes on, even if we have highs and lows”.

Fergie went on to post a series of reflective tweets, the most interesting of which was perhaps this:

“Sometimes we look back at our life, dropping our jaw at our stupid recklessness.”

While she didn’t go into detail about exactly what reckless mistakes she was thinking of from her own life, Fergie is clearly hoping to move forward and keep thinking positive. She went on to post that:

“Forgiveness comes when we have the chance to see it as a learning curve and move forward with knowledge, also forgiving ourselves.”

“1 step towards the lightness of thinking positive thoughts, stops the continual nagging of the dark negative ones. Make the step, literally”

“No matter what’s happening, no matter what’s going on around you, never give up. The clock never stops, clouds come and go but the sky rests”.

While the exact meaning behind the posts weren’t made clear, they certainly seemed to be rather dark, causing her 79,000 followers to worry about her wellbeing. Understandable given the Duchess’ previous battles with depresssion.

The Daily Mail reports that a friend of The Duchess said, “She is in a good place at the moment. She has clearly got her life back together after the events of recent years.”

Fergie has had her share of financial woes in recent years as she turned to endorsement deals such as becoming a WeightWatchers spokesperson to help pay off debts to the tune of millions.

She was also excommunicated from the royal family for many years after bringing shame on the family for the infamous “toe sucking” incident with her financial advisor that led to her divorce from Prince Andrew.

These days though her debts are paid off and she is even being increasingly welcomed back into the royal fold, with the Queen recently offering her former daughter-in-law Windsor Palace to use as a party venue for her recent birthday, and allowing her to stay at the Queen’s Scottish holiday estate of Balmoral in the summer with her daughters – Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie. Fergie was recently forced to cut her vacation their short though so as not to cross paths with Prince Philip.

While it is believed that the Queen’s husband Prince Philip is still no fan of the redhead and refuses to speak to her, the Queen has a soft spot for Fergie, regarding her as a good mother to her granddaughters.
