The Duchess of York revealed that Diana would have been the ‘naughtiest’ grandmother to the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s one-year-old son Prince George.

“[Diana] would have just been the naughtiest, funniest and the best ever just because she loved her boys so much and she would be so proud of all of them and what they’ve achieved,” Sarah said.

Before Princess Diana’s untimely death in 1997, the Duchess of York was exceptionally close to the Princess.

I really miss Diana. I loved her so much,” she said.

“Diana was one of the quickest wits I knew; nobody made me laugh like her. But because we were like siblings—actually, we were fourth cousins and our mothers, who went to school together, were also best friends”

Prince Andrew’s former wife had nothing but praise as she gushed over Prince Charles and Diana’s two sons, William and Harry, and William’s wife Duchess Catherine.

“They really are extraordinary boys and Catherine is incredible. I just think it is all goodness and we need to hear more about goodness and Diana would have loved that,” she said.

The 55-year-old royal could not confirm rumours regarding reports claiming that Duchess Catherine is expecting a girl, and the couple plans to name her Diana.

“Um, no,” she said before clarifying. “I have not heard that.”

Sarah certainly seemed impressed over the way the young couple were handling life in the spotlight.

“I believe in love. I believe in just that goodness of love and I think they are a beautiful example of a great family, totally in love and with that delicious little George, so squishy, you know you want to eat him,” she said.

We couldn’t have said it better ourselves!

During the interview, Sarah once again, echoed her support for her former husband Prince Andrew

She said recent allegations that he had any sexual relations with an underage girl were “salacious lies”. Once again, Sarah said she stands by  the statement made by Buckingham palace, labelling all allegations as defamation of character.

“I don’t understand in this day and age how people could make salacious lies up and how the media can then write about it, and then follow on with it because I just don’t understand. This is defamation of character, of a person that is the opposite of how he’s being portrayed,” she said.

Buckingham Palace put out a denial on his behalf, that’s how it works within the Royal family. They stand by that denial. There is nothing more to be said.”

Sarah went on to discuss how the allegations would not come between her family, especially her two girls, Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie.

“We are a really solid, beautiful family- and that’s really it. We will not be defeated, we are impenetrable and we will show by success!”
