Woman’s Day has heard from sources within London’s St Mary’s Hospital that Catherine, the Duchess of Cambridge, has been seen at St Mary’s Hospital in London, where she is expected to give birth to her second child.
An exclusive, well-placed source at the hospital tells us, “I saw her arrive”.
While it’s not confirmed that she is in labour with the fourth in line to the throne, our source within the medical facility tells us she was definitely seen in the hospital within the last two hours, speculating that it could be for any number of reasons. It is not clear whether she is in labour or has simply popped by for a last-minute check-up.
Duchess Catherine, 33, gave birth to her first child, Prince George, in the hospital’s luxury maternity ward The Lindo Wing in July 2013. The palace erected barricades and allowed media to set up transmission cables near the hospital entrance yesterday, prompting renewed speculation that her and Prince William’s second child – George’s little brother or sister – could be born any day now.
Hello! magazine, a prominent publication in Britain also with strong royal sources, has long reported Catherine’s due date to be April 25, while the UK Daily Mail has often speculated that the baby will arrive on April 20.
London-based bookmakers have received overwhelming bets that the newborn will be a baby girl, with punters guessing that her name will be Princess Alice.
UPDATE: Woman’s Day reached out to Kensington Palace for comment on the Duchess’ rumoured appearance at St Mary’s Hospital. They responded, “Kensington Palace does not comment on speculation”.
