Princess Eugenie is set to follow in her cousin Prince Harry’s footsteps and make the move to the US with husband Jack and son August who has just turned two.

Currently, Harry and wife Meghan live in Montecito, California with their son Archie, 3, and daughter Lilibet, 2.

It would come as no surprise for Eugenie to make the cross-country move given she has previously lived and worked in the US and was based in the big apple, aka New York from 2013 to 2015.

Harry and Eugenie have also been close, growing up in the spotlight, and enduring the many pressures being members of the royal family bring with it.

Their strong bond was further solidified in the six-part Netflix docuseries Harry & Meghan in which footage of Eugenie visiting Montecito was shown, with Eugie playing with toddler Archie on a beach.

After ‘Megxit’ in March 2020, Eugenie and Jack moved into Harry and Meghan’s former home of Frogmore Cottage for a short period before moving again to a cottage on the grounds of Kensington Palace.

And now, as Eugenie prepares to welcome her second child into the world, we can’t help but wonder if her and husband Jack – who she wed in 2018 – will follow in her cousin’s footsteps in an effort to raise her children away from the childhood that she and Harry had.

”We’re so excited to share that there will be a new addition to our family this summer,” Eugenie shared to her Instagram in January, posting a sweet snap of August kissing her belly.

So close is the relationship between cousins, that Harry and Meghan were reportedly the first family members to know that Eugenie was pregnant for the second time around.

”The Duke and Duchess of Sussex would have been amongst the first to hear the news of Eugenie’s pregnancy,” royal expert Ingrid Seward, editor in chief of Majesty Magazine, told The Mirror.

”Meghan and Harry are close with Eugenie – and not only has she stayed with them in California, but they have been on holidays together before Harry’s marriage.”

If Eugenie and Jack do indeed make the move, they will have to fund it (and the security they might require) themselves given that they are not full-time working members of the royal family, unlike Eugenie’s other cousin Prince William and wife Catherine.
