No Elton John fan wants to hear that he canceled some shows, but this time, he honestly had the best reason for doing so!

The musician canceled two Las Vegas concerts that fell on the same weekend as Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s highly-anticipated wedding, with his last show before the big day being Thursday, May 17 at Caesars Palace.

While the “Tiny Dancer” singer has yet to confirm the reason behind the cancellations, it’s pretty likely the coincidental timing explains it. Elton was a close friend to Princess Diana prior to her death, and he was also in attendance at Prince William and Kate Middleton’s wedding at Westminster Abbey back in April 2011.

All signs are pointing towards Elton receiving another royal wedding invitation!

The 70-year-old is in the middle of his “The Million Dollar Piano” residency at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace, which he has held since September 2011. It concludes in May 2018, so it looks like Elton may have even canceled his last two shows there!

Elton has made it known that he hopes to be invited to Harry and Meghan’s big day, even acknowledging that he was aware of the scheduling conflict of his shows. “It will be nice because I love him very dearly,” he said to The Sun in January. “I’m playing in Vegas, so I don’t know what’s going to happen.”

Well, it looks like he solved that problem!

Meghan and Harry will wed at St. George’s Chapel in Windsor on May 19.

We can barely wait to see the duo (and their esteemed guests) in all their wedding glory!

Both Elton and Harry spent time together at Google camp last summer, and Elton was able to get to know him a bit.

“I could tell that he was totally in love,” the father-of-two said during an interview in January. “He didn’t really discuss much personally but he said ‘I’m in love’ and I thought ‘good for you.’ Both of those boys are very special to me because of their mother. Both of those boys seem to be ecstatically happy and that’s all you want people to be.”

While the official guest list hasn’t been revealed, it’s probably safe to say Elton will be in attendance with husband David Furnish.

Who knows, maybe he’ll even be performing! It’ll make up for his two canceled shows, at least.
