We all know the Duchess of Cambridge is a woman of many talents.

Since her introduction into the royal life we’ve seen her jump from a twenty-something university student to a Duchess, a philanthropist, a world traveller, a style icon, a wife, a future Queen – we’re not even going to mention the exhaustingly impressive list of outdoor activities she enjoys – and a mother of two under three.

But it seems Duchess Kate isn’t satisfied with standing still, the new mother has added another inspiring talent to her already inspiring list – artist!

The Mail Online reports that, according to a royal source, Kate has been using the remainder of her maternity leave to brush up on her artistic skills.

The Duchess, who has a Bachelors in Art History from the prestigious St Andrews, has been recently taken with drawing and painting portraits of her two children.

In a scene right out of a Jane Austen book, the Duchess reportedly spends her time in the gardens of her lush Sandringham estate, drawing royal portraits of Prince George and Princess Charlotte – and she’s quite good at it, too!

According to The Mail, Kate has shown off her work to a select few of her friends and they’ve been thoroughly impressed, with one of them allegedly suggesting that she enter in her work to the National Portrait Gallery, of which she is a patron.

But although a gallery showing might be off the cards for our modest Kate, a release to the press might not!

Kate recently released the photographic official portraits she took of her children through the palace, which have been praised by photographers the world over.

Whilst we’re not sure if we’ll ever get a glimpse into the sketchbook of a Princess, it doesn’t hurt to dream!
