The Duchess of Cambridge, 35, made an impression on a darling little boy during her solo visit to Luxembourg on Thursday.

The three-year-old boy was one of the many well-wishers who turned out to celebrate Kate’s arrival at a cycling-themed festival in Place de Clairefontaine, but upon sighting the much-loved royal he found himself simply overcome with the pressure of handing her a posy of flowers!

The bashful young boy, the son of Tour de France-winning Andy Schleck, burst into tears and burrowed his head into his mother’s shoulders before a sympathetic Kate knelt down to console him.

Jil Schleck, his mother, later said: “Kate asked if he was shy. She was very nice – you can see she’s a mum.”

“She said not to worry, it’s totally normal at that age.”

After graciously accepting the white and green posy, Kate went about consoling the little boy.

Jil Schleck, the boy’s mother, said it was clear the Duchess is a mother.

The Duchess opted to wear a custom designed sky blue wool crepe coat by Emilia Wickstead, for the brief five-hour visit. She accented the look with a pair of nude pumps, a similarly-hued clutch and blue topaz and diamond drop earrings in white gold from Kiki McDonough.

And while there’s no dispute the royal looked elegant from head-to-toe, pearl-clutching onlookers were quick to notice that the mother-of-two momentarily broke one of the many etiquette rules facing a modern day royal: she tucked her clutch. The horror!

The horror! A tucked clutch is reportedly against royal etiquette.

As royal etiquette expert Myka Meier recently explained to Good Housekeeping a royal must never tuck her clutch under her arms as it’s against etiquette.

“When the Duchess is at an event, she holds her bag in front of her in both hands when shaking hands might be awkward,” she said. “Or she can place it in one hand to have the other free. It never gets tucked under an arm or placed on the ground or table.”

Somehow we’re sure she’ll be forgiven for the momentary slip-up!

The Duchess’ brief one-day trip to the tiny nation — an integral part of the British Royal Family’s “Brexit tour” charm offensive in Europe this year — was scheduled to attend a series of commemorations marking the 150th anniversary of a treaty that confirmed the country’s independence and neutrality.

At the cycling-themed event the royal was treated to a bevy of local delicacies.

She was also on sight to unveil a series of Luxembourgish and British works of urban art, located at the Place Clairefontaine.

The 35-year-old was all smiles despite the dreary weather!

It certainly is a busy time of year for the young royal!

A Kensington Palace spokesperson recently confirmed that the Duchess and her husband Prince William will soon make an official visit to Poland and Germany.

“The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge will make an official visit to Poland and Germany this July at the request of The Foreign and Commonwealth Office,” the statement began.

“Full details will be announced in due course,” it concluded.

This will mark Catherine’s first trip to Germany and the couple’s first time in Poland on behalf of Queen Elizabeth II.

It’s believed the duo will meet with German Chancellor, Angela Merkel, during their visit.

Although the initial announcement hasn’t addressed whether they will be joined by their two young children, Prince George, three, and Princess Charlotte, one, the pair travelled with their parents as they embarked on a royal tour of Canada last September.
