Every year without fail, the Middleton clan jet to the stunning island of Mustique in the Caribbean.
It’s a chance for one of the world’s most famous families to escape the spotlight and spend some quality time together.
The secluded destination, which has a no-fly zone, has become a Middleton tradition. Late last month, Carole and Michael were spotted arriving to the private island.
The annual break also coincides with Carole’s 61st birthday. However, this year Prince William and Duchess Catherine were absent from the getaway.
Indeed, with two young children to look after and the fact their oldest child, Prince George, has just started nursery school it’s clear Wills and Kate don’t want to disrupt their little ones’ schedules.
Family holidays with Carole, Michael and Catherine’s beloved siblings James and Pippa may be few and far between over the coming years as the Duchess becomes even more immersed in royal duties.
The 34-year-old recently revealed she will be joining Huffington Post to act as a guest editor for the day.
She hopes to use the opportunity to raise awareness over children’s mental health problems.
This week it was also confirmed the mother-of-two will be giving her first sit-down interview since becoming a member of the British Royal Family, to help celebrate the Queen’s 90th birthday in the upcoming documentary The Queen at 90.
Meanwhile William has swapped the swimming trunks for his trusty high-vis vest as he continues his work for the East Anglia Air Ambulance.
Although it’s all a far cry from cocktails and sunshine in the Caribbean, these hard-working royals wouldn’t have it any other way!
