There’s a real royal on the set of Downton Abbey! A heavily pregnant and glowing Catherine the Duchess of Cambridge took a royal set tour of her favourite TV show.
The 33-year-old, who is eight months pregnant, spent two hours behind the scenes of the popular period drama, meeting the cast and crew, at the historic historic Ealing Studios in London.
During her tour of the TV show, which is in its sixth season, she was drawn to one room in particular – the kitchen!
“She spent the longest time in the kitchen, so me and Lesley [Nicol, who plays head cook Mrs. Patmore] are taking that as a compliment,” Sophie McShera, who plays assistant cook Daisy, said.
“We told her that two of the hobs work – because we like having steaming pans.”
Wearing a cream coat from the British maternity line JoJo Maman Bebe, the Duchess appeared to be rather star struck during her visit. However, the cast and crew said they were even more star struck to be in the presence of a real life royal!
And she didn’t leave the set empty handed. The Duchess was gifted with a delicious looking chocolate cake ‘baked’ for her in the Downton Abbey kitchen and a wooden train for her son Prince George, who was presented with a wooden toy train by One of the twin boys who plays Lady Mary’s son, George.
