Kensington Palace confirmed the news, explaining in a statement: “After a decade of service to the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and Prince Harry, Rebecca Deacon will be stepping down as private secretary to the Duchess of Cambridge. She plans to leave the household in the summer.”

“Their Royal Highnesses are incredibly grateful for all the hard work and support Rebecca has provided over the past ten years, and wish her well in the next phase of her career.”

Over the years Rebecca, who graduated with an English degree at Newcastle University, has been dubbed “the woman behind the Duchess.”

Holding flowers? We’re SO good at that!

Sharing cheeky banter with Prince Harry? We can DEFINITELY do that…

In fact, she’s grown so close to Catherine and co that the royal family helped arrange the mother-of-all favours for her upcoming wedding to Adam Priestley.

The Duchess and The Queen gave their trusted confidante the OK to tie the knot at the exclusive Chapel Royal at St James’s Palace in London.

Us mere mortals cannot set foot in the sacred church where Prince George was also christened back in 2013 unless we know someone in the royal family.

Catherine and her private secretary are so close, the royal has helped secure her wedding venue for her.

Rebecca’s duties include managing the Cambridge’s public and private diaries, travelling with the family on royal tours (!!!) and the very prestigious role of being the official flower/present holder when the couple are bombarded with gifts on walk-abouts.

She’s also worked closely with Prince Harry and his Sentebale charity.

So, now Rebecca’s out that essentially means Kate is on the hunt for her new go-to girl!
