The announcement follows the news that The Queen, Britain’s longest-reigning monarch, will soon step down as patron from a number of national organisations in the coming months.

After having visited some of the organisation’s services last year, Kate, 34, is no stranger to the admirable charity which works to help vulnerable and neglected children and young people and their families.

Following the exciting announcement, Sir Tony Hawkhead, Action For Children’s chief executive, said: “Everyone at Action For Children is thrilled to have received confirmation that HRH the Duchess of Cambridge will take over patronage of the charity from Her Majesty The Queen.”

“It is a great honour to begin what I am sure will be a long association with a member of the royal family, with whom we already have a relationship following visits to some of our services in 2015.”

No stranger to philanthropy: last week Kate attended a Christmas party hosted by youth support service The Mix and charity, Heads Together.

The Heads Together charity was famously founded by the golden royal trio in an effort to reduce the stigma around mental health.

“The Duchess has an interest in many of the issues our teams deal with across the UK, particularly around emotional well-being and mental health.”

“On behalf of the 390,000 children and families we help, our supporters, trustees and staff, I offer a warm welcome to the Duchess of Cambridge as our new royal patron.”

Action For Children manages 650 projects and services based around the UK, working with hundreds and thousands of children, young people and their families who are in need of support.

As a doting mother to two children, we have every confidence that Kate will lead the way with compassion!

Kate always puts her own children first and with that in mind, we can’t wait to see the brilliant work she does in her new position.

According to the Action for Children website, the organisation works, “to make sure every child and young person has the love, support and opportunity they need to reach their potential.”

We couldn’t think of anyone more perfect for the exciting new position!
