Duchess Catherine pays her respects at emotional Remembrance Day service

The Duchess of Cambridge joined Duchess Camilla and other royals on the balcony for the service at the Cenotaph in London.

The royals were out in force to pay their respects at various traditional Remembrance Day services around London.

Duchess Catherine, alongside Duchess Camilla and Sophie, Countess of Wessex watched over the events from the balcony of the Foreign and Commonwealth Office, all taking time to pause for their moment’s silence.

Dressed in sombre black attire for the occasion, Duchess Catherine looked visibly moved by the proceedings.

At one point, Sophie was also seen wiping away a small tear.

The three royal ladies took their place on the balcony.

Sophie was overcome with emotion.

More than 750 military personnel gathered for the event to pay tribute to the war dead, accompanied by the nation’s leaders.

Queen Elizabeth, in her best black coat adorned with a brooch of traditional poppies, led the two minutes’ silence for the fallen.

Prince Phillip took a moment to honour the fallen too.

She was accompanied by Prince Phillip, dressed in his military regalia.

The Queen then stepped forward to lay down a wreath of poppies at the memorial, followed by Prime Minister Theresa May.

Following the ceremony, a march comprising thousands of veterans and current military personnel began, parading past the Guards memorial.
