“Mid-to-end of April,” is what Duchess Catherine has previously revealed to be the due date of the future little brother or sister to Prince George though.
Now though, British punters have nominated 25th April as the most likely date for Duchess Catherine to give birth with bookies reporting that they have received a flurry of bets for this being the lucky day.
Over 80% of punters at British bookmakers Coral have nominated the 25th as the big day with odds of 14/1. They also think it’s more likely to arrive early than late with odds of 15/1 that it will be a day early and 16/1 that it will be a day late.
With a UK general election coming up on the 7th of May though, many think the future royal bub will hold off until that day to arrive amidst the voting mayhem. A fresh wave of bets named that date with odds of 26/1.
Meanwhile, as to the name and gender of the baby, most punters seem quite certain that it will be a girl, with Catherine even dropping a hint of that herself. According to Coral, it’s 8/11 that the second tot is a girl, while a boy stands at 6/5.
As to the name? Alice was the strong favourite in the lead up to the birth, from 8/1 to 3/1, Elizabeth followed close with odds of 5/1, then Charlotte with odds of 11/2. Bookies have also received a flurry of bets on Victoria at 12-1.
We wonder if Prince Harry, who is currently in Australia will mark the arrival of his new niece or nephew with any special celebrations down under?
