Duchess Catherine has put rest to the rumours about the possible due date of her second child, the royal bub who will be fourth in line to the throne.
“Mid-to-end of April,” is what the Duchess told well-wishers when speaking at a charity engagement on Wednesday.
Catherine, 33, was visiting a children’s centre in Woolwich, London where she spoke to mums and families supported by the charity Home-Start.
“I told her she is beautiful and that she’s got a tiny little bump,” volunteer Christie Osborne, 49, told Hello! magazine. “I asked when her baby is due and she said mid-to-end of April.”
Clearly, the gambling public agree as bookmakers taking bets on the royal birth recently narrowed the odds on a March birth from 6/1 to 9/2.
Could punters be right about the gender then? 80% of them currently favour a girl. Even Catherine recently dropped a major hint that she’s having a baby girl. As to the name? Elizabeth is currently the hot favourite with odds of 6/2, followed close behind by Charlotte with odds of 9/2.

At eight months pregnant, Duchess Catherine looked as glam as ever on her outing, in an affordable yet stylish black and white polka-dot wrap dress from online retailer ASOS. From their maternity range, the cute and comfy frock retails at just $68.60 and suffice to say, it has already completely sold out!

Catherine was also heard to say “not long to go now” as she cradled her growing bump at the event where she was showered with gifts from other mothers for her newborn as well as 19-month-old Prince George. Gifts included a potty training book, an Elmer the Patchwork Elephant book, a colour-sorting clock and a manual on how to teach children to tie their shoelaces.
“Oh that’s perfect,” Kate laughed, pointing at a potty training book she was given. “We will certainly be needing that!”
