Drab to fab: Mary swaps hiking gear for gladrags

Princess Mary showed just how quickly she can go from drab to fab in Chile yesterday.

A makeup-free Mary and her husband Frederik swapped their usual finery for shorts and T-shirts to go trekking near Santiago, looking like any other couple enjoying the country’s famous wilderness.

But just hours later, the pair arrived at a gala event in the Chilean capital looking polished and perfect.

Mary and Frederik are in South America for three days. Their children stayed at home in Copenhagen.

The couple didn’t mind posing for pictures in their “daggy” hiking gear.
