The youngest children of Crown Princess Mary and Crown Prince Frederik turned nine on January 8 and to celebrate, the Palace released two new candid photos of the Danish royal twins.

Dressed in khaki coats and taken outside with a field as the backdrop, the first photo depicts the twins with their arms wrapped around one another in a hug, smiling sweetly at the camera.

The second, more candid frame, shows Prince Vincent planting a kiss on his twin sister’s head whilst Princess Josephine reacts with joy.

To make matters even sweeter, the Palace confirmed that the photos were taken by the twins’ mother, Crown Princess Mary, but this certainly isn’t the first time the future Queen has gotten behind the camera.

Much like the Duchess of Cambridge, Mary frequently takes photos of her family and her work is often shared on their birthdays.

In fact, this year’s photos look remarkably similar to those shared for the twins’ eighth birthdays, with a familiar looking Danish natural background.

The twins are the youngest of Crown Princess Mary and Crown Prince Frederik’s brood, who are also parents to Prince Christian, 14, and Princess Isabella, 12.

Last year’s photos of the twins featured a similar background.

In an exciting new move, the Danish royal household announced this week that Crown Princess Mary has officially moved with her young children to Switzerland for three months.

The relocation is so that four children, Prince Christian, 14, Princess Isabella, 12, and eight-year-old twins Prince Vincent and Princess Josephine can attend boarding school for three months.

The royal children will be attending Lemania-Verbier International School for its 12-week spring term, and whilst mum Mary will be by their side for the duration of it, dad Frederik will remain in Denmark but will visit when possible.

Mary and Frederik’s family will no doubt share new photos of their time in Switzerland so we shall just have to wait and see!
