The Danish royals have laced up their sneakers for the Royal Run 2021, which was postponed from May to September this year.
Crown Princess Mary and Crown Prince Frederik both attended, as did their three youngest children; Princess Isabella, Prince Vincent and Princess Josephine.
The only missing member of their royal family of six was Prince Christian, who is currently away at boarding school for the final years of his studies.
Even without him, the young royal family managed to have fun and encourage other Danish runners taking part in the event.
They shared a series of snaps to the Danish Royal Family Instagram promoting the event, including two standouts that had fans smitten.
One photo showed three of the royal couple’s children, Isabella and twins Josephine and Vincent, posing in their running gear, their cheeks flushed as they held up their medals.
They children looked all grown up in the photo, which appeared to have been taken in the palace gardens.
The royals then shared a second picture showing one of their dogs, Grace, dressed up in the official Royal Run 2021 shirt.
“Grace will also join…” the caption joked.
Other photos showed Frederik and Mary preparing for their runs, the Crown Prince writing: “Imagine that it is almost 2.5 years since we were last gathered for the Royal Run!
“Now we can finally get together again, and I have been really looking forward to today.
“I look forward to a festive day around the country and I hope that everyone who participates or follows the sidelines will have a good experience 🏃🏻♀️🏃🏽♂️🏃🏻”
Organised by Exercise For Life in collaboration with the Sports Confederation and the Danish Athletics Federation, the run takes place in Denmark’s five largest cities.
Princess Mary travelled to Aalborg to join in the event there, while Prince Frederik ran at the Sonderborg event.
Their children were at the Copenhagen event, where the two princesses and Prince Vincent ran the event together.
Mary shared a photo to Instagram as she jetted to Aalborg, captioning the snap: “In a little while I will arrive in Aalborg, and I can already feel the special atmosphere at the Royal Run.
“I have been looking forward to experiencing that again. Today I have to run five kilometres myself.
“But whether it is one mile, five kilometres or ten kilometres (which my husband throws himself into later !!), that is today’s challenge, it is also about us having a good shared experience.”
Fans lapped up her sweet reference to Prince Frederik, while Danish locals were thrilled to see Mary – and the other royals – at the starting line at races around the country.
Photos from the various Royal Runs showed the Crown Prince couple jogging with members of the public, sharing laughs and smiles as they went.
