Prince Harry will marry his 24-year-old girlfriend Cressida Bonas next year, UK newspapers have reported.
Cressida has reportedly “overcome” her fears of marrying into the royal family and “got used to the idea” of settling down with Harry, 29.
Friends say they now expect the couple to wed in 2014.
“Cressie is going to marry Harry,” a friend told the UK’s Sunday Telegraph. “Harry never stops talking about marriage and children and she has now got used to the idea.”
The rumours are sure to break the hearts of thousands of Australian women, who turned out to see the prince in Sydney on Saturday.
Harry was extremely popular with the ladies during his whirlwind tour Down Under, with women screaming ‘I love you Harry!’ from the moment he stepped out of his car.
Harry and Cressida have been dating since July 2012. Harry sparked engagement rumours in August this year when he whisked Cressida off on an African safari, just like William did when he proposed to Kate in 2010.
Cressida has always been uncomfortable in the spotlight, going to great lengths to avoid being photographed with Harry.
Harry’s fame and royal status has already dashed his hopes of marrying one great love — his long-time girlfriend Chelsy Davy ended their romance for good in 2011 because she decided she didn’t want the loss of privacy that comes with being a royal wife.
