Princes Charles and the Duchess of Cornwall have commenced their nine-day royal tour of India by taking part in a traditional prayer ceremony on the banks of the river Ganges.
The couple were draped in a garland of marigold blooms and strings of beads for the traditional ceremony where they waves lamps and poured blessed water as part of the ceremony.
Prince Charles led two minutes of silence for the flood victims of the local area affected in June and spoke of how becoming a grandfather had made him reflect on the environment and considerations for the future.
