Polish the silver, there’s a real royal heading to Downton Abbey!
Kensington palace has announced that Catherine the Duchess of Cambridge will visit the set of popular TV show Downton Abbey to “celebrate the success of the award-winning production” later this month.
The royal, who has previously said she is a big fan of the show, will tour the set and meet the cast of the award winning series.
“She will watch one take of a scene being filmed in the servants’ quarters for series 6 and a second take of the scene via a monitor in the ‘Video Village’ area, before proceeding to the Servants Hall to join cast members, writers and producers in an official photograph,” the statement said.
Catherine, who is seven months pregnant, will meet crew members Dame Maggie Smith, Phyllis Logan, Robert James-Collier, Lesley Nicol and Sophie McShera. She may even bump into Prince Harry’s ex Cressida Bonas who is set to star in the series.
But Catherine isn’t the only royal fan. Her husband Prince William has also expressed his love for the drama series.

Allen Leech who plays Tom Branson in the show said Prince William had expressed to him just how much he loves the show.
“I was actually at an event last week with Prince William, now the Duke of Cambridge,” he told Watch What Happens Live host Andy Cohen.
“I met him last week, shook his hand. He actually said, ‘I’m a big fan of the show — only now that my wife’s had a baby.'”
“Obviously he’s now got a lot of downtime, so [Kate’s said], ‘I’m watching this and you’re watching it with me,'” Leech surmised.
