Prince Harry and Meghan Markle engagement mania has officially reached red-hot, fever pitch. More red than Prince Harry’s ginger locks, in fact.
And as the world waits with bated breath over the announcement, which is being tipped to supersede Prince William and Duchess Catherine’s 2011 nuptials in terms of a global event, London is abuzz with speculation the wedding announcement will be made THIS TUESDAY.
After a false start on Friday, November 24th, punters have Tuesday picked as the real-deal announcement date.
Here’s why experts are convinced Prince Harry is about to share his happy news…
British PM Theresa May has cleared her diary
According to The Sunday Times, last week British PM Theresa May had made sure her schedule was free.
Sources tell the publication the engagement was due to be announced to time in with the American Thanksgiving holiday on Thursday but after a tip-off was leaked to British broadcasters, who had apparently rocked up outside of Kensington Palace with their camera crews, courtiers canned their plan.
“The fact Downing Street was involved is hugely significant. The word ‘imminent’ was used about the announcement,” an insider explained to The Sunday Times.
Meghan Markle is being guarded by a royal protection officer
Last week, Meghan Markle officially made the move to London to live with Prince Harry full-time in his Nottingham Cottage at Kensington Palace.
And the 36-year-old was spotted out and about shopping on King’s Road in Chelsea with Metropolitan Police’s Protection Command bodyguards.
The fact the actress has been seen with taxpayer-funded security details screams “I’m engaged!”
Cast your mind back to 2010 and a similar scene played out with a then-Kate Middleton, who was given a royal protection officer in the weeks after she became secretly engaged to Prince William in Kenya.
The Sunday Express also report the Suits star is getting trained on how best to escape a kidnapping or Terrorist attack.
Apparently, palace staff have already been briefed about the engagement
According to the Daily Star Online, palace staff were summoned on Friday to confirm the couple were engaged and are planing a “non-traditional wedding.”
However a royal insider says they’re ironing out logistics before making the official announcement.
“They are engaged but they are trying to sort a few things out now, like house hunting for a retreat and other things,” a source claimed.
“It will be up to them to decide when to announce it as they want to do it their own way, which Her Majesty agrees with.”

The Royals love a Tuesday engagement
Both Prince William and his father Prince Charles revealed they were engaged on a Tuesday – it’s a favoured day of the week for the Royal Family.
But the only way we’ll know for sure when it’s a sure-fire thing is when it’s confirmed by the palace.
The news will first be announced by Clarence House and Kensington Palace via Twitter and most likely Instagram, so make sure those notifications are switched on!
The timing would certainly be right to share their wedding news as The Queen and Prince Philip have now celebrated their milestone 70th wedding anniversary and the Cambridge’s royal baby isn’t due until April.
Here are the official royal accounts to follow so you can get up-to-the-minute news on the engagement
