Prince William and Duchess Catherine have given the world their very first glimpse of their third child, a darling baby boy – and he’s already a record breaker!
The new Royal has tipped the scales at 3.8kgs – the biggest Royal male baby in 100 years!
Not long after the Prince’s arrival was announced on the Kensington Palace Twitter account, an official notice was placed on an easel in the forecourt of Buckingham Palace to mark the birth of their third child.
“A notice has been placed on the forecourt of Buckingham Palace following the announcement of the birth of The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s third child,” Kensington Palace explained via Twitter.
“It is tradition that a framed notice of birth goes on display on a ceremonial easel on the forecourt at the Palace,” the statement continued.

Earlier on Monday, April 23rd Kensington Palace confirmed Duchess Catherine and Prince William had welcomed a son at St Mary’s hospital in Paddington, London.
“Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Cambridge was safely delivered of a son at 1101hrs. The baby weighs 8lbs 7oz [about 3.8kgs]. The Duke of Cambridge was present for the birth. Her Royal Highness and her child are both doing well,” the palace confirmed in a statement.
This impressive number means the new Prince’s newborn weight is heavier than any of his siblings.
Not just that – Kate Middleton’s third child also weighs more than Prince Charles, his Grandfather, and more than both his Dad AND his uncle, Prince Harry!
Princess Charlotte was born at 8lb 3oz (roughly 3.71kg) and was the smallest of her siblings, with Kate’s first baby Prince George born at 8lb 6oz (roughly 3.79kg).
The baby’s impressive weight took some by surprise, such as SKY News presenter Kay Burley who called the new Prince a ‘porker’ on live TV.
The reactions to this public gaffe were not favorable, with one viewer tweeting: “Kay Burley said he was a porker which I thought was rude.”
Ouch!
