At 93-years-old, Queen Elizabeth has a remarkably busy schedule – but she still finds time for the things most important to her.
Indeed, the reigning monarch has even found the time between her busy Easter schedule (which her birthday also fell on this year!) to visit a family member who would have appreciated it most, not least because she’s only moments away from becoming a mother herself.
You guessed it – Duchess Meghan has had the pleasure of hosting the Queen at her new home Frogmore Cottage, it has been revealed, and the visit has confirmed a very important detail about the impending royal baby.
Speaking to The Sun, a royal source revealed the Queen “wanted to formally welcome the Sussexes to their new home so she was their first visitor.”
And rightly so, given Meghan and Harry had “practically moved into her back garden”, according to the source.
The surprise news has confirmed a very specific fact – passionate hostess Meghan is staying true to herself despite being due to give birth at any moment.
It’s no mean feat given we’re sure many would succumb to their favourite arm chair and take it very easy as they enter the final stages of pregnancy.
Indeed with Meghan’s due date being revealed as late last week (late April), she was still “delighted” to show her very special visitor around, according to the source.
And the Queen wasn’t the only one who’s paid a visit to Meghan and Harry’s new abode.
Late last week, it was revealed by royal reporter Omid Scobie that both Kate Middleton and Prince William had also visited Meghan before she gave birth.
In a report for Harper’s Bazaar, a royal source told Scobie that the in-laws had visited the pregnant Duchess following the Easter Sunday service they attended at St George’s Chapel.
“They wanted to be supportive and see how she is doing. It was a lovely afternoon,” the source revealed.
Meghan and Harry moved into their new home in Windsor in April after it underwent extensive renovations to prepare for the arrival of their new baby.
The friend revealed to Scobie that the pair were well settled into the home now.
“It’s truly a lovely home and they have done such a great job with the space. So much light and positive energy. I couldn’t think of a better place to start a family.”

With Meghan’s due date now been and gone, fans and royals alike are on high alert for any signs of the Duchess going into labour.
Prince William himself even admitted that he had “no idea” when the royal baby was coming, telling fans at a walkabout in Christchurch on Friday that they were likelier to find out when it was born before he himself was at this rate!
That being said, we’re sure Meghan and Harry’s close family and friends will be around them when the baby does arrive, with mum Doria having already flown to the UK from her home in LA to be by her daughter’s side for the birth.
And most notably, the Queen, who resides nearby, will also be on hand to catch one of the first glimpses of Baby Sussex – as well as being one of the first to be told of its safe arrival, as per royal tradition.
