They say you donโt make friends with salads, and it appears the Queen canโt help but agree.
While Queen Elizabeth is no doubt given the royal treatment when it comes to being cooked for, sometimes things slip through the cracks.
And in one particular recent instance, the Queenโs kitchen staff proved that things can get a little, well, sloppy.

While tucking into a nice healthy salad recently, the Queen got a little more than she bargained for when she came across a slimy garden slug.
This sort of debauchery would normally be a cause for many to flip out and send their salad back right where it came from. But Queen Elizabeth the II had other ideas.
Instead of raising a formal complaint with her kitchen staff, she reportedly ripped a page from a comment book where she usually passes on her satisfaction, and placed the slug on it.
And while she may be 92 years old, sheโs clearly still got some sass โ the Daily Mail reported that alongside the slug she cheekily wrote: โI found this in the salad โ could you eat it?โ
The shade!

The Queenโs light-hearted reaction may have come as a result of her preference for organic, healthy food โ the slug only proves that it really is fresh from the garden!
In fact, the Queen is so dedicated to eating organic that she now rejects any non-organic foods, according to Darren McGrady, a former royal chef who worked at the palace for 15 years.
He told British newspaper Express: โTry including strawberries on the menu in January and sheโll scrub out the line and say donโt dare send me genetically modified strawberries.โ
He added: โShe absolutely does eat seasonal.โ

The chef revealed the Queenโs usual day on a plate, which includes a choice of cereals, yogurt and marmalade on toast for breakfast.
It would come as no surprise that sheโs partial to a high tea in the afternoon, complete with sandwiches (crusts not included!) and cake.
And her favourite sweet dish of all? A chocolate biscuit cake, which Elizabeth enjoys a small slice of every single day.
With her salad in tact, it looks as though she enjoys a very well balanced diet.

This isnโt the first time the Queen has turned her nose up at something of late โ a senior courtier revealed in September that the Queen was upset by a scene in Netflixโs The Crown, which didnโt portray Prince Philip in the best light.
Up until then, it was widely understood that the Queen and other members of the royal family, including Princess Eugenie, enjoyed watching the television show.
But a second season episode where Charles is depicted as the victim of bullying during his school days at Gordonstoun left Queen Elizabeth โparticularly annoyedโ. The scene in question showed Philip displaying no sympathy for his troubled son.
โPhilip has no sympathy for a plainly upset Charles while he is flying him home from Scotland. That simply did not happen,โ the source said.
โI can convey that [Queen Elizabeth] was upset by the way Prince Philip is depicted as being a father insensitive to his sonโs well-being.โ
If her sassy response to her chef was anything to go by, weโd love to know what Elizabeth had to say about the showโs producers after watching this particular episode!
