Luckily for us, Eugenie has dropped a number of hints about the most important gown she’ll (most likely) ever don.

In a recent interview with British Vogue, the Princess revealed the designer was British-based, saying: “As soon as we announced the wedding, I knew the designer, and the look, straight away. I never thought I’d be the one who knew exactly what I like, but I’ve been pretty on top of it.”

This surely suggests Eugenie frequently wears and knows said designer on a personal level, narrowing the pool significantly. Tatler reports there are three standout designers who could be frontrunners, so we’ve weighed up each.

1. Erdem

Eugenie has been known to wear Erdem’s stunning floral gowns on more than one occasion – her engagement shoot for starters. If that’s not a sign of trust then we don’t know what is.

The label is also a favourite among other royals: Duchess Catherine wore another floral design by the British designer while in Sweden in January.

A close connection with the royal family never goes amiss, so this contender certainly holds some weight.

2. Stella McCartney

Given the global approval of that gown Meghan wore by the same designer following her wedding ceremony in May, we wouldn’t be surprised if Stella was a front-runner to create the next royal bride’s frock.

The brand in question is also well known for its sustainable ethos, something Eugenie has proved she’s passionate about. In her interview with British Vogue, she said: “My whole house is anti-plastic now…and Jack and I want our wedding to be like that as well.”

The plot thickens!

3. Vivienne Westwood

Eugenie wore a Westwood design to Wills and Kate’s wedding back in 2011, so we’ve already ticked the box of identifying a designer the Princess loves.

The choice could be a radical one from Genie – Westwood is known for her unconventional designs. Bridal fashion, particularly in royal circles, tends to stay reasonably conservative.

It’s certainly a risk, but then again, we’ve seen the Princess wear some pretty unconventional things in her time. So we’re not striking Vivienne off the list just yet.
