It’s been an incredible weekend for the British royal family as the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, who landed in Australia on Monday, announced the impending arrival of their first born.
But before this, and not to be outdone (sort of), the Windsors celebrated the second royal wedding of the year – of Princess Eugenie of York and Jack Brooksbank.
While their thunder has certainly been stolen, it has not stopped the Yorks’ from relishing in the joyous occasion.
Now, Princess Eugenie has shared a beautiful Instagram post, thanking everyone for making their day so special.
“Jack and I would like to thank everyone who was involved in making our day so special and for all the wonderful wishes as we start married life laughing together. @alexbramall”, Eugenie wrote, accompanied by the most gorgeous picture of she and Jack surrounded by their flower girls and page boys.
Front and centre is everyone’s favourite miniature princess, Charlotte, pulling a face while older cousin Savannah, wraps her arm around the bride.
The fun portrait is a far cry from the official portraits released after the wedding, and shows joy, laughter and a candid moment of two people very much in love.
While the touching thank you is certainly something to cherish, it did not come without some serious royal drama – just ask Sarah Ferguson and Prince Andrew.
As Kensington Palace’s official statement about Meghan and Harry’s baby was released on Monday, October 15th, Sarah the Duchess of York was firing out tweets left, right and centre in a bid to keep the momentum from Princess Eugenie’s wedding day rolling.

Story continues after the video
Moments after Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan’s baby news broke, Sarah Ferguson uploaded a snap of one of her royal wedding reception outfits and thanked the designers for styling her.
An hour later, Sarah shared yet another wedding snap – this time of her daughter and new husband hand-in-hand alongside the caption: “So proud of Eugenie and Jack #wedding.”
But Fergie’s rampage didn’t end there.
The 59-year-old proceeded to upload another three more wedding-related snaps throughout the course of the day.
The mother-of-two clearly seemed to be ignoring the enormous royal news making global headlines and was intent on keeping the focus on her family’s recent celebrations.
Over on Prince Andrew’s socials it was very much the same story, with the Duke of York re-tweeting Sarah’s post welcoming Jack to the family.
Neither Sarah or Andrew are yet to publicly congratulate the Sussexes… and we definitely feel for them!
