Princess Eugenie is one of the few royals with a personal Instagram, so whenever she shares a snap, we love looking at all the personal touches.
And the tenth-in-line to the throne’s latest snapshot was no different when she shared a series of photographs celebrating her father Prince Andrew as he took part in his formal duty as Colonel of the Grenadier Guards at Buckingham Palace over the weekend.
However, it was her sweet caption that revealed a little more insight into York family life, specifically the name that she (and presumably big sister Princess Beatrice) refer to their father as.
Alongside the family photos Princess Eugenie penned, “Today, the Yorks were really proud of Papa @hrhthedukeofyork as Colonel of the @grenadier.guards.”
“He reviewed the parade and took the salute at the Colonel’s Review. The Grenadier Guards will troop their colour next week in front of their colonel-in-chief, Her Majesty The Queen,” she added.
In an interview with Vogue back in September 2018 ahead of her wedding to Jack Brooksbank, it was revealed that both girls address their mother, Sarah Ferguson, as ‘Mumsy.’ How frightfully posh!
Unsurprisingly, Prince Andrew’s ex-wife Sarah Ferguson was also in attendance. Despite divorcing in 1996, the two have maintained a strong relationship and continue to co-parent in style.
“So proud of @hrhthedukeofyork on parade today for The Colonel’s Review with @grenadier.guards at Horseguards and also my girls,” she captioned her own series of photos from the day on her own Instagram.
But for fans of Princess Eugenie’s candid snap of the York ladies watching the proceedings from the balcony, it wasn’t quite as glamorous as it may seem.
Turns out the Duchess of York, Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie weren’t standing but kneeling on the ground in their finery to get a better look.
And it wasn’t just the immediate family who were there to support Prince Andrew.
In a series of photos shared by florist Emma Farah – who worked on the flowers for Eugenie’s royal wedding, it was revealed that Jack Brooksbank, Princess Eugenie’s husband was also there to cheer on his father-in-law as was Edoardo ‘Edo’ Mapelli Mozzi, Princess Beatrice’s beau, who she went public with in March.
Edoardo works as a property developer, and is reportedly a multi-millionaire owning a property consultancy company specialising in finding and developing multi-million pound homes. Now that he has officially met the parents, it’s clear that things are getting serious for this young royal couple.
