Princess Charlotte Elizabeth Diana of Cambridge is officially two years old.
And Prince George’s cheeky counterpart has grown into one adorable little girl.
On the eve of her birthday, Kensington Palace have shared a heart-melting new photo of the Princess – and she’s grown up so much since we last saw her!
In the pic, which was captured by keen photographer Duchess Catherine, a chubby-cheeked Charlotte grins for the camera in a yellow cardigan among bales of hay at their Anmer Hall estate.
Her shiny chestnut locks are coiffed to the side with a navy blue bow as she plays with a toy in her hands.
Taking the opportunity to thank well-wishers, the birthday portrait was accompanied with a message from the Cambridges.
“The Duke and Duchess are very pleased to share this photograph as they celebrate Princess Charlotte’s second birthday. Their Royal Highnesses would like to thank everyone for all of the lovely messages they have received, and hope that everyone enjoys this photograph of Princess Charlotte as much as they do,” the statement read.
According to her proud parents, their “extremely chatty” daughter certainly keeps them on their toes.
“She is very cute but has quite a feisty side. George has turned out to be a lovely little boy. I hope he will keep Charlotte in order,” Duchess Catherine recently revealed.
Insiders tell Woman’s Day Charlotte is one of “the happiest royal tots in British history” – and her idyllic upbringing is all thanks to her mum and dad.
“They’ve got everything any child could ever want and – unusually for the Windsors – they’ve got two parents who completely and utterly dote on them,” the palace insider explained.
When it comes to raising their daughter, Prince William says there’s one trait they’re working hard to instil.
“Catherine and I are clear that we want both George and Charlotte to grow up feeling able to talk about their emotions and feelings,” he told CALMzine last month.
Growing up before our eyes, Charlotte’s first two years have been jam-packed with family outings and royally sweet moments.
Last year, she won hearts across the globe when she joined her parents on their royal tour of Canada and spoke her first public words (“pop” no less) at a children’s party.
She also made her Trooping the Colour balcony debut and showed off her impressive walking skills when she attended church with her loved ones on Christmas Day at St Mark’s Church in Englefield, Berkshire.
While we haven’t seen the fourth in line to the throne since December, this year is set to be huge for Charlotte as she will play a starring role in aunt Pippa’s wedding next month and move from Anmer Hall in Norfolk back to Kensington Palace in London, before starting nursery school in the not too distant future.
The Mirror report the Cambridges will throw a low-key birthday party for their daughter at Anmer Hall.
