Just when we thought Princess Charlotte’s excitable, yet shy walk into her first day of school at Thomas’ Battersea couldn’t get any cuter, this happens.
To celebrate the milestone moment for the four-year-old royal, Duchess Catherine and Prince William have shared the sweetest new photo of Charlotte and elder brother Prince George before they embarked on their first day of the new school year.
In the image, both children are seen standing with their arms around each other and smiling proudly.
Both dressed in the prestigious London school’s smart navy and red uniform, we are frankly besotted with this new glimpse of the royal children – they’re growing up far too quickly!
The image was posted on Kate and William’s official Instagram account, Kensington Royal, with a statement reading: “The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are very pleased to share a photograph of Prince George and Princess Charlotte at Kensington Palace this morning.”
The caption explained: “The photo was taken shortly before Their Royal Highnesses left for Thomas’s Battersea.”
Many have flocked to the comments section to share their delight in seeing the young royals together.
“Can these two be any cuter?” Wrote one follower.
“This is my favorite back to school picture!” Another added.
We can’t help but agree with that!
Earlier in the day, the world was blessed with glorious new images and footage of Charlotte arriving at school for her first day.
Holding tight to her mother’s hand, the young royal looked to be in high anticipation for her first day.
The moment was made all the sweeter with Prince George accompanying Charlotte.
The six-year-old future King has attended the school since 2017, and is believed to love his time there.
According to a report from PEOPLE, George will be helping Charlotte settle in.
“They are close in age, and they spend so much time together,” a source told the publication.
They explained that playdates with other children who aren’t as well known to the family “can be tricky”.
“So they learn to lean on each other.”
Charlotte has a busy year of learning ahead.
Her curriculum will involve a number of classes, including learning the language of French, as well as partaking in art, computing, music, drama and ballet.
According to to the school’s website, the young royal will be given “choices and learn to have a go and persevere, be creative and solve problems, form good relationships, be safe, secure and happy.”
Sounds like the perfect place for both Charlotte and George (and perhaps one day, Prince Louis!) to learn and grow.
