When Princess Beatrice and Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi announced their engagement, us royal fans couldn’t contain our excitement at the thought of another royal wedding.
But according to a variety of sources, including the mother of the bride Sarah Ferguson, we have some details about the big day. And it’s less likely to be as grand as Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank’s.
One of Beatrice’s friends told PEOPLE magazine that the bride-to-be had mentioned having “a smaller affair” unlike her sister’s star-studded nuptials that took place at St George’s Chapel in October last year.

“Beatrice and Eugenie are super close, but they are very different,” another source told the publication.
“Beatrice is more serious and Eugenie is the outgoing extrovert, she’s so bubbly and fun. Beatrice is more reserved and discreet. She holds back more, she is very polite, very well-educated but more formal and quiet in her personalty, so I think it will be a very different wedding to Eugenie’s.”
Rumours also surfaced that the wedding would take place in Edoardo’s home country of Italy but proud mum Sarah Ferguson shut down those rumours on the British Film Institute Luminous Gala red carpet.
“It can only be Britain, and anyway don’t believe what you read,” she told a journalist from The Express.
Royal reporter Ingrid Seward supported this when she told OK! magazine: “I think in her heart Beatrice would like to be married in Italy, where Edo’s from, but there’s no way the Queen will fly to Europe for the wedding.”

Princess Eugenie confirmed that she and her older sister are quite different to The Telegraph back in 2018, saying that perhaps the reason they get on so well is because they think and do things differently.
“I am definitely not as polite as Beatrice, I have to say. I tell it as it is. I am shyer at first. Like, at a party I will say to Beatrice as we go in, ‘Oh, you go first.’ But then, when we’re actually in, I am much louder and she is far more polite and solicitous,” she explained.

Princess Beatrice’s wedding may be a smaller affair, but the nuptials are still expected to be held in a royal venue like St George’s Chapel where Beatrice’s family members Eugenie, Prince Harry and Lady Gabriella Windsor also tied the knot.
The ninth-in-line to the throne also has a few celebrity friends so we doubt the occasion will be that low-key.
We’ll be keeping our eyes peeled for supermodel Karlie Kloss and singer Ellie Goulding at her big day, that’s for sure.
