The birth of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s first child caused a frenzy around the world last week, with royal fans dying to get a glimpse of the newborn.
But it seems Harry’s brother and sister-in-law Prince William and Duchess Catherine were keen to give the new parents some time to breathe before calling in to see little Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor for the first time.
More than a week after the birth, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge finally popped into Frogmore Cottage on Tuesday to meet their new nephew.
A Buckingham Palace spokesperson confirmed the meeting took place on Tuesday, People magazine reported.
Last week, William and Kate, who are parents to George, Charlotte and Louis, dished some parenting advice to Harry and Meghan following Archie’s arrival.
While visiting the Cutty Sark in London, where the pair were launching the King’s Cup Regatta, Duchess Catherine told onlookers that she and Prince William were “looking forward to meeting the new baby and finding out what his name’s going to be”
She added: “These next few weeks are always a bit daunting the first time round so we wish them all the best.”

In another sweet moment that captured the attention of parents the world over, Prince William also added his own quip, saying: “I’m very pleased and glad to welcome my own brother into the sleep deprivation society that is parenting.”
Meanwhile, Harry and Meghan seemed to be relishing private time with their newborn.
While they’ve admitted they’re trying to keep Archie out of the spotlight as much as possible, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex shared a cute snap of the baby to Instagram this week.
Posting to their official Instagram account the couple uploaded an adorable snap of Archie’s feet, which looks to have been taken by Harry himself.
